Steampunk at Dragon Con

Steampunk is the new Vampire! Overflowing rooms, photo shoots, meet-ups and gadgets! Steampunk is WAY hot at this year’s Dragon Con.

By far, the strongest impression I came away with is how NICE the Steampunkers are.  Not one was rude to me. All were open and giving about how the cobbled together their costumes. Every man was handsome. There is a reason that the Tuxedo has been in fashion for more than 100 years; it looks good on just about everyone.

But enough about what I thought. Were you there?  What turned your rock? What annoyed you?

  1. I wholeheartedly agree with all your comments! Steampunk men are definitely among the most well-dressed and dashing! The thing that disappointed me most, however, was how difficult it was to get into any of the Alternative History sessions. Lines were wrapped down the hall and the spaces were obviously too small. I think the good folks at DragonCon underestimated the popularity of AtlHist. Hopefully next year larger spaces will be assigned. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to getting involved with Terminusteam, and already planning new outfits for next year!
