Countdown to Launch: 23 days to go. SteamTweet?

Do you Tweet? Follow us @CoalCitySteam as we count the days down – giving away tidbits and prizes and insights. Today is Sunday, so the insight for you all is that we are rolling! We’ll begun is half done, or so says Mary Poppins. I will let you in on some details and stats today. SO! On to the numbers:

AS of right NOW:

Her Majesty’s Explorer: a Steampunk bedtime story has this many LIKES on Facebook: 618  (That’s more friends than Kevin and I have put together.)

The number of folks participating in the Virtual Launch Party February 28th, 2012: 60 (78 if you count the Maybes in the mix – BUT 775 other people have not responded.) Get YOUR .R.S.V.P. in yet? Go on – We’ll wait…

34 – The number of pages to the book.

7 – The number of  pages with an image of Steamduck.

38 – The ages of both the author and the illustrator – but his birthday comes first, so Kev, I will ALWAYS be younger than you! Mu ha ha ha. (However – You get cake first….)

5 –  The number of stanzas in the book’s bonus poem “Three Cheers for Steamduck.” It’s a type of rhyming poem called Chain Rhyme – or so I’m told. (However – the pattern is aaab cccb dddb, etc. as opposed to a Persian Ruba’iyat – where the variant is in the third, not the fourth rhyming position. Yeah. I just went there. See what happens when you give me five minutes alone with Wikipedia? You should see what happens when I poke around at Web MD. Things go from hangnail to shark attack real fast.)

And – sad but true – Steamduck has his own Facebook page, and he only has 8 friends / fans. Can’t a duck get a little love?

Tomorrow: I tell you how things go with today’s DEADLINE! It’s a critical day, and we are moving onward and duck-ward! Until then, tweet and re-tweet! Her Majesty’s Explorer: a Steampunk bedtime story is coming and Tuesday, February 28th, is THE day.
